Satisfactory Academic Progress

To remain eligible for Federal Financial Aid, students must make Satisfactory Academic Progress toward the completion of the program. Yo San University measures Satisfactory Academic Progress in terms of units earned. A student is making Satisfactory Academic Progress if he or she averages thirteen earned units per term.

Progress is measured after two consecutive trimesters, also known as an evaluation period. Students who average less than thirteen units per trimester are placed on probation for financial aid.

Students become ineligible for federal student aid if at the end of two consecutive evaluation periods, they are not making 'satisfactory progress'. Satisfactory progress means that the student's average earned units per term is thirteen or that the student has completed the number of units established by the student's Academic Progress Course Plan.

Eligibility is re-instated, when the student has earned sufficient additional units to increase their average per trimester to thirteen or meet the number of units established by the student's Academic Progress Course Plan.

"This is the area with regard to returning to school that caused me the most anxiety. However, from the moment I walked through the door and into the capable hands of the financial aid department, I was put at ease. The process was easy and angst free."
